On the Shelf...
Our book selection committee members are certified teachers, including several reading specialists. The book committee chooses books for each grade level from the large list of titles that have been selected by District 150 schools for the Accelerated Reading Program, a nationally recognized reading incentive program available to teachers in our district. If students and teachers desire, the books can be used as a part of that program.
At least twelve different titles will be available for each grade, with a span of ability levels appropriate for the grade. The selections include both fiction and non-fiction titles.
