For the love of reading....

Give a book.    Give a future!
Participate in our reading program for young school children in Peoria.

Studies show that a child's reading skills and school performance improve if there are books in the home. Many families in Peoria's District 150 schools cannot provide books for their children.

In response to this need, some agencies have developed programs to help parents of young children to acquire books. The Adopt-A-School program through District 150 has been providing tutoring and books for some grades with great success.

Look! It's My Book! was founded to augment the work of the Adopt-a-School Program in District 150. We provide a book to each child in four of our schools in grades K through four six times a year. We hope to expand this to all 11 schools as we can. By helping children have access to books at home, we hope to strengthen learning and instill a life-long love of reading. Notes to one of our volunteers indicate that it seems to be working!

Look! It's My Book! is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
