Participate in our reading program for young school children in Peoria.
Studies show that a child's reading skills and school performance improve if there are books in the home. This is a real need for many of our children in Peoria.
Look! It's My Book! was founded to augment the work of the Adopt-a-School Program in Peoria, Il District 150. We provide a book to each child in four of our schools in grades K through four six times a year. We hope to expand this to all of the elementary schools as we can. By helping children have access to books at home, we hope to strengthen learning and instill a life-long love of reading. Notes to one of our volunteers indicate that it seems to be working!
